I've had squirrel damage too. It seems to be mainly the low fruit.

Oh no, is that your first fruit? Pick just after it blushes and ripen on your counter until you can
remedy the critter destruction. Do you use any top dressing fertilizers like PlantTone? They love the stuff. A good diversion tactic. It may even make them a bit sick. (i put some out in a deli lid one night and it was gone by morning.) -i was putting some in the planting hole and they dug up a few plants last year. |

fused, blossom-end-rotting Bush Beefsteaks determinates 8/17/17, apparently not liking the cold damp summer. I sure hope they all aren't like that, considering they are determinates.

Oxheart plants 8/17/17 but only blossoms so far. Slower than molasses in winter. I have hopes for Indian Summer to maybe get a couple of toms off of these, yet.

@Stvrob. Nice plants. You definitely have the knack of getting a jump on the weather in JAX. We're in Kingsland GA, and just getting the hang of when to plant. Moved here in fall '16. Am still way behind you. You must have started that tomato on Christmas :-) When/where did you start the melon. We had a good season last year until June, then all went bad/bugs/disease. Keep us posted on how that tomato does.
