Rattlesnake coming up, I just happened to have some pipe to tie the string to.
Gave them all a shot of miracle grow. Also the test fennel is viable from the half pound of spice seeds I bought. Worth IMG_20170604_25157.jpg |

I was looking for a rattlesnake. Then I remembered there are both Rattlesnake Watermelons and Rattlesnake Pole Beans.

Odd how both our cats seem to get in our garden pictures. I'm trying to recall one I've posted without a cat butt in it.

I have the bean and the melon and the cat.
I have worked my tail off today. The giant agave got so big I couldn't get out of my driveway without great difficulty. The other plant got tied back too. No sooner than I finished and went on a cooling motorcycle ride as soon as I got parked in the garage it came a downpour. Yes that big ole thing is in a container. I rather suspect that the roots are no longer in the container...

Cole it is a lot of work to make that stuff.
The rattlesnake beans are hitting on all eight cylinders. The leaves are a nice dark green. I do need to by some ironite for the rest of the garden and one of the big tubs. Worth |

CR, that page has a really good description of the tequila making process. By Mk. I Eyeball I'd estimate that Worth's piña might make well over a gallon of effective juice. Now all he needs is a steam oven, a grinding stone with oxen, a press, fermentation vat, stills, and maybe oak barrels. And several months.
On second thought, I think I'll buy it.

I am picking few okra and beans.
I will make some beef stew with bean, okra, tomatoes , potatoes, peppers : All from the garden. Of course , except the beef. Maybe I should raise my own cattle.

Sharpshooters back in full force.
If I cant take out the nest on the other side of the road I will never get rid of them. This is only the second year I have ever seen them here and that was years ago. Worth |

I have one or two polls coming up in a new thread.
I really would appreciate participation. Just in the poll, you don't have to comment, some of the questions may be personal to some people. I am just looking for numbers to better guide me in the right direction. Worth |

What lurks behind curtain number two?
A mortgage lifter that is now safely in the house. I have had socks and now this foam rubber hiding tomatoes from deer. Worth IMG_20170606_0804.jpg IMG_20170606_15983.jpg |

Found both of my thermometers and now have them both at the same time.
They were within 2 feet of each other in the kitchen. The reason is I am going to do a little testing of the soil temperature in the tubs and see just what difference color and shading make. I figure it will take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to get a good reading. This will give all of that mass time to adjust and settle down with no added water to mess up the readings. Worth |
