I Just checked our forecast . There is no serious rain maybe until Thursday , calling for T storm,. Even that has 60% chance. We have been having July -like weather lately, highs reaching 90F. But it cools off nicely at night.
I have to water everything tomorrow morning.
OK! You guys out there, stay safe !

The bad weather that happened a few counties to our east was really bad. Tornados took people's lives - much less property damage. Search and rescue teams will be out overnight.

Salt, I am glad you and Jan are safe, but am sorry to hear your neighbors we not so fortunate. Between the severe storms, tornadoes and flash flooding, it is going to be a difficult day for many.

I guess my little freeze warning isn't so bad compared to what others are dealing with. I ended up doing nothing and the low only got to 32. It looks like my little fruits survived.

Bummer , yuk! we have some flooding and flood warnings thru 5/2 but so far not as bad as some areas - more rain and storms forecast for today and tonight. 3/4 of a mile from here in my subdivision a 2 story took a direct lightning hit and burnt the 2nd story and part of 1rst and some of nearby house - both viynal and brick stick built 8 yrs. old . no one hurt! I think it was the same bolt that shook some dishes in my kitchen cupboards.

4" rain since Wed pm in my gauge

That pictuer reminds me of a job I was on years ago.
It was a new catholic church.
One end of the church was the entrance and it was on the down side of a steep hill.
They didn't elevate the entrance above the slope of the hill and it was channeled right to that set of doors.
The baptismal was in the center of the church and well below grade by about ten feet.
In other words a pond.
The first thing I said to the GC was how long do you think it will be before this place floods.
His reply was what do you mean?
Never mind.
About 4 months later after the place was almost completed everything in place it came a good rain.
That Monday we came to work and there was about ten feet of water and mud in the middle of the church.
What kind of educated idiot would design something like this when a hillbilly like myself can see it right off the bat.

I moved to Texas 4 years ago and this is the coolest spring weather in my short time here. My wife lives here 30 years now and she says this spring weather is not common but not unheard of. So far, no really bad weather here except some heavy rain and one hail storm that put dents in the VW's parked in the driveway. The garage is occupied with wood shop and the "go cart" so something had to suffer. Fortunately we are all OK and my tomato patch is still healthy. But.... 49 deg in North Texas... in late April?

Back in 1980's it was on a Sunday.
The day before was around 70 to 80F or so.
That night it got cold and I had to work derricks on a rig in Hobbs New Mexico in the middle of a dusty field.
The next day Easter Sunday it was well in the 20's and snowing so hard I couldn't see the floor 60 feet down on the rig.
The derrick was covered in ice and the wind was howling.'
Western acidizing and fracking was there and they had planned a big steak cook deal with one of their company cooking contraptions.
The guy that was supposed to do the cooking said he wasn't going to cook in a blizzard.
We said like hell if we have to be out in this blizzard then you are darn well going to cook in it.

We got our steaks.
The guy was standing in the blizzard and all you could see was a shadow of him cooking it was snowing so hard.

This link only works if you are on facebook:

I saw that same video of the flood damage posted by a girl I went to high school with. Her husband is the one who filmed it. He posted it on facebook, and it was shared by several of my friends. Then ABC news, because they have a contractual relationship with facebook, legally steals the guy's video and plays it on World News Tonight, without even giving him credit for filming it.

In Hobbs? That was probably the most moisture they got all year.

But not all that far away, up in Cloudcroft, they pack on the snow like a major ski resort. Great place in the winter (as opposed to an oil derrick).
