The secret to eating good food is not to wait until you're starving to prepare it. Although I have gotten pretty lazy about that these past few years, I do always keep spaghetti sauce and chile in the freezer for emergency hunger attacks. And of course theres always pizza delivery....

These two things went down like slippery eels.
The Sweet Marsala really shined with them.

Worth,
my turn to cook tonight. What can I make with an eggplant that my kids and wife will like. Im tired of cooking for them and having them not enjoy it. I have plenty of sweet onions, tomatoes, sweet roasting peppers, mildish jalapenos, oregano, rosemary, lemon basil, and thyme. Throw them all together and roast them in the oven maybe?

How's about a stir-fry where they are not so much front-and-center? No kid can resist a vegetable covered in sweet teriyaki sauce...just cut them small so they don't pick them out.

Ratatouille
My mother made it all of the time with eggplant.
Sounds like you are on your way there anyway.

Well, it wasnt real ratatouille but it came out pretty good. Sauted eggplant, onions, and red ripe peppers and a few okra with a piece of link turkey sausage and probably too much thyme . Simmered a big pan of assorted misc tomatoes with lemon basil til a bit thick, then combined them both and served over pasta.

I saw that some years ago. Good movie, but the kids are all worn out and asleep already. Plus they would say they are too for a Disney movie.

I did see a good feel good movie on Netflix recently. It was called "Chef" and I have no hesitation in recommending.

Tonight, I cut into A Bradley tomato that was picked 8 days ago. It was ripe enough then. Then it kept getting put aside. Jan and I don't care for mushy tomatoes, so I was going to save seeds from it. I cut it open and ate a slice. It melted in my mouth - no need to chew. The taste is unbelievably good. Our first must-grow semi-determinate tomato.
