Thank God everyone is Well and back here at Tomatoville again. It is good to see great Posting again and to learn from it.

Happy New Year and I Hope everyone getting their bodies ready for the 'Hard Work' we Love to do each year.

Funny, I just checked in for the first time in a loooong time!
I had moved so only had 1 bed, and my mother had taken ill and eventually passed so you can imagine how much time that takes up.

I'm back and will prob check in a few times a week.

Wish I had more time, but family, work, & garden has taken much of it up.


Would have loved to share the news of 3 plants in one bed last year that produced over 100 pounds of tomatoes. My first 40 pound producer ever! And getting 22 pounds off a Cherokee Purple was amazing indeed.

I have been off the radar for a while now. Had back surgery and then moved to Tennessee. Finally bought a home 6 months ago. I plan on putting 100 of so tomato plants in the ground in spring which will ultimately lead to more. Hahaha. Anyway I should be checking in from time to time. Glad to see some familiar faces and look forward to the new ones.

Now she has an amazing set of raised beds in her Minneapolis yard, and won a ribbon at the state fair for a tomato I got from Darryl/Fusion about then.

Darryl, if you're listening I still grow Tastiheart/HeShPoLe every year, and a few other locals do too.

Ah yes, Gardenweb! My first attempt at a gardening forum. Time exclusively there for a couple, three years. First contact with Carolyn and a few others before joining this brand new place...Tomatoville. The GW seemed to be taken over by gardeners who were not interested in my kind of growing. A natural shift occurred that interested me more, so TV it was. Still here on a daily basis even after all these years; if not posting at least looking in.

Yes, Heshpole has become a nearly yearly favorite.

Aww, nice to know people still here.
Rarely am lurking, mostly because after moving in new house there is just too much of everything. Indoor work, outdoor work. My remodeling skills are way up ��
My tomatoes are mostly down to few favorite varieties so not looking to new ones.
We were still running local plant swap and it is time consuming but very rewarding experience.
About to start my peppers.

Now that the tomato season has started I will be logging on more often, I like seeing what everyone is growing, I also learn alot from this site.

I have my first group planted on January 5th growing well and my second group is starting to germinate.

Got all my raised beds prepared, next I am gonna setup drip irrigation so I can use TTF this year, I had great success with it in 2019 and several years after.

As I get older I do a little bit of gardening each day instead of doing it all in one day.

I look forward to growing tomatoes, my Daddy grew tomatoes, guess it's in my blood as my newphew now grows tomatoes too.

Honestly, I rarely check in here but like knowing it's here. I just am not a big talker and when I do talk, I tend to ramble so I try to avoid it. LOL! When I have questions, I do searches instead of making new posts. I enjoy reading past posts and full conversations instead of waiting for replies, responding, waiting for more replies, etc. I guess you could say I treat TV more as a resource/book instead of an on-going interaction.


Sorry to hear you had or are having health problems. I hope you are feeling better or are at least starting to feel better. I deal with health issues, too, and it's annoying. There are so many things I'd like to do but can't anymore. I'm thankful I can still garden though it's very hard on me.

I have wondered the same thing. Where did everyone go? I still check several times a week. Still grow 40-some tomato plants each year. I've settled into a growing routine and favorites that I repeat each year. I try some new each year always looking for that new favorite. It's funny that seeing less action on here made me not want to post too, thinking there wasn't anyone around to read and respond.

Hi Bill....I just had to use your Bleach Spray treatment on my tomato transplants for a mold problem that developed. After 2 treatments it killed all the mold and the plants are doing OK.

I was on Garden Web in 2006 and met Carolyn there also
