Tomatillos in partial shade?

I use a plastic cover on my containers to help the plants grow faster and protect them from weather and bugs. I just replanted my tomatillos on my balcony. There are two seedlings started in my hydroponics. Then there are seeds that I just scattered in there. The plastic cover around a 3 foot cage doesn't really gets so hot inside to kill the plants on a sunny day. If it does, you can cut slits on it. I suppose on a cold night you can put a light bulb as a heater.

Have any of you tried growing them in partial shade? I have some volunteers growing and am going to attempt to move them to an area that gets partial shade most of the day and full sun for about 3 hours.

My experience is that they will fruit in partial shade and in even more shade (not very much, though), both in raised beds, but they fruit a whole lot more in full sun, directly in the ground.

They do very well in containers in full sun, too.
