I'm fortunate that the only thieving issue I have is by animals. People in my community garden are very respectful of property.

You could tell her you had sprayed them with a poisonous spray... HIGHLY poisonous.

Perhaps the only way for them to learn is to experience it the other way around. Ask for some milk and clean out their fridge. You wouldn't want it to rot and go to waste after all.
