I mostly grow indeterminate varieties. I've never tried growing in a container. I do not mean for this to sound like a negative post (I don't have the right wording here), but young tomato plants need protection near them and as they grow, the trellising needs to be farther apart as the plant grows wider. I do not understand how this form of support works?

Nice Garden! Did the Cages hold up for you?

Are they East Indie ducks and Sebastobol Geese?

The cages have held up well, some of the original cages when I was trying to figure out the design are 3-4 years old now. Crazyoldgooseman yes those are East Indie ducks and Sebastobol Geese! I also redesigned the cages to use 1 2x4x10 instead of 2, time will tell how those hold up but so far they are looking good. Instead of ripping the 2x4's in half I now rip them in 4 equal pieces that are 3/4" thick and screw them together, the new design doesn't fold but are lighter and easier to handle plus are half the cost to build. Here is a pic from the end of the season.

That is a beautiful picture, and a nice backyard farm as well.

I bet you could grow just about any vine crop on those.

Nice design and nice pic! I would be interested to try something similar with bamboo or plastic pipe that I sometimes can get for free. Let us know how the 1 board design works out. Thanks again for posting.
