I friend asked me what was going on with Double Helix as there's no "add to cart" buttons on the site. When I went to their FB page, I found a link to this.
He has not been well at all. http://www.gofundme.com/helpingstevew If any of you have even a few dollars to spare, please send it his way. Thank you, Remy

I looked at Steve's blog and it hasn't been updated recently. I hope this is a sign that things are much better for him!

I am very sorry to hear of Steve's sickness. I have had debilitating sickness myself so I know what he is going through. God bless and protect him and his family. Has anybody contacted him or family members and has an update? I can't seem to share his gofund site on my facebook page.

Hoping people will see this thread, go to his site and check it out. Just placed an order with him myself. Would have been larger, but I didn't know he was open again until most of my seeds were already ordered.
He has some really interesting varieties there and I love his pictures and descriptions. Very thorough and he seems to be a little more honest about variety shortcomings than some sites. (Not to slam other vendors. Heck, they have to sell seeds!) Especially looking forward to trying his seeds for Honey Drop (supposedly a more flavorful type of small yellow pear) Little Lucky and also the Chervena Chuska Pepper. |

Livingonfaith: I couldn't agree more! I love perusing his website, he always has some really different tomatoes! I placed an order about a week ago and also got the Chervena Chuska pepper seeds. I'm looking forward to trying Nefertiti (to compare with Black Cherry,) Anatolia, and Ovita. I also got some chickpea (garbanzo) seeds. How fun! (or not… I've never grown them, better go start reading!)

I do recognize that it is a sickness of some kind, but I can't seem to stop! This isn't a support group, everybody is an enabler here!

You just keep telling yourself that, Worth!
Just received my seeds today! Pretty good ship time since I only ordered them a week or so ago. Trying five of his tomatoes, Little lucky, Honey Drop, Great Italian Paste, Nugget, Neva, and one pepper, Chervana Chuska. He also sent an extra "thank you" packet of Jubilee tomato seeds, which is really nice! Trying a few determinates this year since I grow in containers. Robin, I hope the chickpeas do well for you! I've also thought about trying those, but honestly, I'll be doing well to get out the stuff I have! |

Steve with Double Helix Farms has one of the best selections I've come a crossed, I've order from him more than once. I know my choices will do well because he has grown them first in his own garden and I am in the same general region. I'm looking forward to placing my next order already.

I recieved my order from Double Helix Saturday. The turn around time was fast and he sent a nice bonus. I'll order from him again next year.
