Yeah, the pickled red okra ended up mushy too, alas. The slime kind of leaked out of the okra and goo-ified the brine. The recipe I used was from the National Center for Home Food Preservation website. I've had really good pickled okra before, so I know it must exist.

I think my big seed catalog order of 2012 will be from Sandhill. They seem to have a lot of good stuff.
