Galina x Grub's Mystery Green F1

We tasted Q4 tonight. It has a stronger flavor than other yellows I've grown. (I've never grown Galina's.) It was a very nice taste.

Great result. What are the drawbacks, as far as you're concerned?

I ate one that I thought was ripe...light green gold on the bottom part and light green on the upper and soft to the touch. It had a stronger taste like Sherry mentioned but not too strong as to overpower. It will be an early tomato for us here in Alaska so that is a plus. The ripe one came off a #2 plant which I have 2 ea. and one #1 plant. The #2 plants are more productive than the #1. I see more of the same turning pale gold on the bottoms so I will get pics of the plant and fruits coming up. I am pretty excited for this one.

Ray -- No real drawbacks that I can identify. As Sue said, 'early' is sure a plus for us. The taste was good. The plant is healthy. I have another ripe one from a different plant and I'll try to post a picture later today.

Here's the first fruit from plant Q3. This one was a tiny bit mealy in texture, but that could improve as the season progresses. Taste was pretty good.

All yellow here so far. Plant P3 has an elongated fruit. This one, too, ripened very quickly. I'd say it went from no color at all to fully ripe within 2 to 3 days.

I think they felt a wee bit softer last evening - I just don't want them to cook on the vite - 34 C here yesterday - highest temperature ever recorded in Vancouver!!

I tasted a fruit from plant #1 this morning and it was pretty mild. I would give it a 6.5-7 in the taste range. It ripened to the color of Sherry's in the above picture.

Couldn't wait any longer - now taste tested -

The green colour seems to be stable Ray ..... yellow skin

I think this one has more flavour than Galina - but not quite as juicy - however this was the first pick, will try a few more before I give it my official rating

Taste and texture of P3 very similar to Q4. A nice little tomato.

This cross is putting out some nice little tomatoes. I'm thrilled about the green.
