Well, she wouldn't dare, but it is finally ripe. Below is the final picture. It had lost only 1 ounce during the ripening. The taste was a good 8.0 out of 10. It really came alive with bacon. I didn't get pictures of the sandwiches we had for lunch today, but I can tell you that it made 12 slices that covered the bread and besides my household, we shared sandwiches with 6 other folks from around the neighborhood.

The companion tomato that was seen in the pictures was probably instrumental in delivering a great tomato. You see, it had been attacked by some critters and I was only able to salvage about half of it for eating. I have started the seed saving processes on this wonderful variety. This fall, it will be included in my free seed offer for an SASE.

Here's the last picture just before its demise. You know, everybody should have one tomato like this one in their gardening experiences.

Belmonster at a kilo and a half, and 8 out of 10 taste. Outstanding, well done.

Well fudge Ted. I was going to ask you if you wanted to trade your monster for my "not so monster, monster."

Your right, if you haven't grown one of these it can be fun. Mine is Amazon Chocolate. Only tomato the plant produced. I just treated mine like the other plants. After seeing yours I wish I would have tried to over feed mine. I'll know for next year though.

Here's my guy. I don't know how much it weighs. I need to get a scale. It's been a learning experience watching it grow from a crazy accordion shape to this.

That thing is possessed! There's a face on it with an evil horn and an animal mouth and nose. You know what you have to do. It can only be quelled by the acid in a human stomach. It's the only thing that can overpower it.

KILL IT !!!! KILL IT QUICKLY BEFORE IT WAKES UP AND GAINS ITS TOTAL POWER !!!!!

We may have to do an old fashioned exorcism. That's what I ended up having to do with mine. Here's the evidence of the evil I had to fight.

HURRY NOW AND KILL IT !!!!!

Ted, congrats on the Belmonster. I'm glad he tasted good and Worth and Starlight can relax. How unbelievably lucky that the other one got eaten by a critter instead of the bigger one!

It's gonna get killed alright. Just a couple more days til I make sure its all ripe for the seeds. Sure does look evil. Maybe I'll just get the seeds from it and forget the taste testing part. I didn't look at the top good, but I know everytime I walk by it and I see the bottom I think of the mouth on that Little Shop of Horror plant. Now I'll be doing double takes at it as I walk by making sure it stays put on the plate.
