Yeah they do just fine. They may flop over a bit when bigger but i grow through plastic mulch so it is not a problem.

I wish i had a secret for you. My plants have been in the ground for 7 years with no soil amendment or fertilizer and have just thrived on their own. They get watered by drip twice a week and get about 3 to 4 hours of sun a day the rest of the time my trees shade them out. For one of the most neglected plants in my yard they grow great. Here is a pic of the plants as we speak.

My latest space saver project
So i built 6 shelves 10 inches deep and 8 ft long for all of my micro varieties. They hang off of the block wall in my garden. All will have drip irrigation ran to each of the 70 plants i think i can fit into these shelves. If it doesn't rain tomorrow i will pot up as many of them as i can and put these shelves to work.
