Depends on what you like, too AND what does best in your climate.
We grow : Ultra Pink (Stokes) sun sugar, sun gold goliath, early goliath Big beef celebrity was good for a few years but has changed since we started growing. better boy performed the worst last year. We were cold for all of the Summer and it succumbed first from the blight. We sprayed a few fungicides and did harvest a crop, but it was a struggle.

I will be growing Better boy and Brandy boy this year. Better boy was the first tomato I grew and I haven't grown it since then, but it does well in my climate and is as close to a sure thing for production I have found. Taste is just ok fot me but probably my fav all around hybrid. Never grew Brandy boy but it was on the rack at Lowes so I bought a pack. Hoping it taste like a Brandywine.

Better Boy seems to be my most resistant tomato when others fail due to Septoria and Late Blight so I always grow them. Honestly, since my soil is so sweet, they usually taste the best and are less blemished. I'm just getting into heirlooms and Op's so the jury is still out.

Brandy Boy didn't do so hot for me, but that was in a high tunnel, and I only had a couple plants. Maybe other people here will have different results.
I agree that something has happened to Celebrity. I grew it two years ago, and the fruit were like red rocks. I know everyone doesn't get that result, or else it would not be so popular. I grew Big Beef next to it, and it was great. |

Good grief! And for GREEN tomatoes too! Now you are going to HAVE to say that they taste great after paying all that money for them!

I have driven two counties away to save $4 before. It only took $10 in gas. |

I bought Early Girl - Ferry~Morse and Tomatillo, Green - Burpee today. I chose Early Girl because back in our first garden in 2010 - it was the only tomato that grew and produced in our horrible soil. Now, 5 years later, I want to see how it does in our vastly improved soil.
That first garden was so bad. It was blow-sand that had never been amended, fertilized, anything. When watering, the water beaded on top of the ground. I read online, that is called hydrophobic soil. I'm not positive that's what it is actually called or not? But yeah, dirt that acted like it was afraid of water. |

salt...I think you will find the EG's are very dependable producers. For me, I just do not care for the bland taste. Just me...
