I placed my order with Baker Creek yesterday. A few tomatoes, but I am going to try some melons this year as well. so mostly melons

The only order I have yet to place is SandHill and thats only because they do not start shipping until January.

LoreD, Thanks for the tip on Baker Creek free shipping. Even though they already have a low shipping fee, it still enticed me to place another order with them this year.

I feel that we should all "spread out" our business. I want to keep all of these companies, Mariseeds, TGS, Baker Creek, SandHill, SSE, and Victory, in business. Even if it costs me extra in s/h charges I'm placing smaller orders with a variety of companies.
I totally agree, and make it a point to support excellent small/ family businesses. I have been purchasing from Baker Creek, TGS, Sandhill, Victory, Seeds of Change, Heirloom Seeds, and Mariseeds, and very happy with all these companies.

Honu, all the companies you mention are small family run companies except for Seeds of Change, which last time I knew was owned by the large Mars Corporation.

Talk about quick, I received my order from Baker creek today....already. I thought it might be a bit slower due to the promotion. Again, they have proven to be fast and accurate.

Honu- if you want a good read, the book about the beginnings of the seed company- "Seeds of Change" by Ausbel -is amazing.

I would love to know why they sold, but organic is getting profitable these days.

Mine came today as well! I always love to view the catalogs while sitting on the couch. I can spend time with my son and read to him about things we both enjoy

I received my Baker's Creek order while I was out of town for Christmas. I got free shipping but the free Christmas CD they promised wasn't included in my order. I am always happy with the quality (and quantity) of the seeds from Baker's Creek.
I am more worried about getting the new catalog. I know I will order again.

Goldpearl,

I believe non-seed items are shipped separately. I ordered a book and it came at a different time. If you don't get your CD call up Jere Gettle and tell him and he will send you one right away.

He is very good about making sure that customers are satisfied.

Default Baker Creek

I love the seed Baker Creek provides and they seem to go to the ends of the earth to bring them to us! I have always had good service and when anything was wrong they made it right. They have a great staff there keeping things going and Jere is leading them in the best way!
Congratulations, Baker Creek, on Your Tenth Anniversary!
Gary/Louisville
