No, I have not seen any difference when I flip the trusses with my fingers or just leave them be.
They are really setting now, my second batch is setting fruit, Dester and Paul Robeson, seems to be the first to have set. I ate Blk Cherry today, it could have went another day or two, but it was good anyway. It looks like GG is going to produce a giant fruit, certainly over a pound already, and Caspian is setting some slabs too. 70 again today in the far north, enjoying spring. |

Leaves
I am not into this just to grow leaves, but some of the PL's are interesting to look at when they get huge. A picture of a PL and a pic. of New Big Dwarf.

Your plants are gorgeous. My Captain lucky had enormous potato leaves last year. What do you feed them, they are just lush.

Mighty foliage. I have some PL seedlings too with very vigorous leaf growth. Lucky Cross and Soldacki lead the way, Black Pear following...

wow! Those leaves are unbelievable. I think we were colder than you this winter. The leaves are just now starting to pop. Daffodils and tulips are starting now to bloom. We are so behind and I start farmers markets in two weeks. Not much to be taking this early in the year.

Hi Karen, I feed them Flora Nova, or Pure Blend, both have worked well for me. I am growing a Mayo's Delight, thanks for the seeds. We have leaves on our trees already, they are about two weeks early this year.

no leaves here, trees are barely budding and it snowed again on the weekend.... I will look into those fertilizers as clearly they are working incredibly well for you. Thank you for the seeds you sent me as well, bloody butcher especially I am looking forward to some early good tasting tomatoes from that one.

Good to hear, looking forward to tasting them - some folks have written negative reviews, so I'm curious how Black Pear will fare for me.
For some reason, my PL varieties seem to be very strong and full of life - not to say the RL seedlings are tiny or sickly, but I hope the vigorous folaige growth will indicate hppy blooming and fruitfulness! |

Fred Limbaugh
We ate a small Limbaugh's Legacy Potato Top today, it was very good, and the two plants I have are piling on the tomatoes. I am glad I grew them again this year, a true keeper in my greenhouse.

Alaska
Dad came over and said he had room for another tomato plant, so I sent him home with this Alaska. It ended up in the cab with him and the dog, go figure.

Hope he got it home in one piece!
That is one big momma, and by the looks of the blossoms, he will have lots of good eating to come.
