Thank you,but the shipping cost twice the cost of the seeds.I'll keep looking. It's a shame some sites charge so much to ship something so small.

The only thing I don't like about them is how attractive they are to critters. As soon as they start getting ripe they get eaten. Unfortunately not by me. I have to pick them right before they ripen & let them finish in the house or I don't get any. I've used several as fried green tomatoes of course, & I made some green tomato relish. I think I'm going to try green tomato salsa also.
Beautiful looking fruits, but it isn't Orange Russian #117 based on the history you gave. Orange Russian #117 was bred by Jeff Dawson, not an old variety from and old man who called it a Russian tomato.

But a great looking one anyway. Almost looks likea pyriform (pear shaped) tome which have big bottoms and more narrow at the top as compared with a heart one which is large at the stem end and then tapers on down to a point, whether an acute point or a blunt rounded point,

And if you get enough seeds sometime that you can offer in the TRADE seed subfroum, offers there are for trades or NOT for trades, I would be very interested.

It's not right to ask folks online in a thread or to PM them for seeds and it's an issue that we have to deal with soon b'c more and more folks are letting us know that they are being contacted directly, which is not right.

If someone has seeds to offer they should do it in the TRADE subseed Forum, which BTW is for Tville registered members only.

Well I remember how excited I was when I found my own first heirloom variety, and it wasn't a tomato, it was a bean.

Yes, after looking at the pics & other info I'm sure it isn't russian 117 however I like it whatever it is. As soon as I get caught up ....must plant garlic...i'm going through my seeds, I'm sure I have enough to spread a few around.
