You don't have Orange soil over there do you? That Orange Bull's Heart sounds kind of scary. Actually, we have some red soil here in different areas. If you step in it when its wet it can take your shoes off and you can dry it and use it for bricks. But you can also grow some good tomatoes in it.
Good luck with your list. |

No, our soil is brownish-black and a lot of peat in it because we have a lot of bogs here

Concerning the Polish you rate so highly. Is it the same as Polish-C,which I got from Sandhill,or another different strain?

Jim, truthfully I can't remember if I have grown Polish C or not. I know I have grown Polish Ellis and Polish Eckerts. I've liked every Polish I have grown and am not good at note taking, but I think they are all very closely related.
I think you will like Polish C. Report back at harvest time! Duane

[Polish]
There do seem to be some differences in the different beefsteaks named Polish. The Polish that Tania grew in 2006 was quite late in what was a better than average summer in the Pacific Northwest: http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Polish Polish C may be a little earlier: http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Polish_C Both are apparently large pink beefsteak tomatoes.

Aussie is my best tasting tomato this season, above my usual favourites Brandywine, Great White, Purple Russian, Black Krim and Yellow Plum. They are all great again this year but Aussie definately wins.

I love miracle Sweet and everything who has tasted them feels that they are the tastiest tomatoes. The plants are hard to come by but they are worth it. I buy from a nursery in NJ that ships. Their web site is http://www.chileplants.com
There are other sources and maybe there are people on this board who grow this variety and sell plants. Elliot LI, New York |

Isis BRANDY?
I have Isis CANDY...is that a typo? I have some Polish C from Spudwillie I can loan to one person (three seeds) to establish more seeds and then send me a few dozen. It's obviously PL. |
