Hi. I was also intrigued by the Sweet Carneros Pink. How long did they take until your first ripe ones? Are they an early tomato? Thank you.

I'm looking for an early OP tomato as most of the ones on my potential 2011 list are pretty late? Are there any suggestions other than Stupice and Bloody Butcher? I'm hoping to find something a little bigger than those two. Some of the WBF ones say pretty early. Have others found this so also?

p.s. sorry for the semi-hijack.

Fruit set fast 60 days, I keep it growing to 1 stem on a 7ft pole, as the plant was 4 ft, with 2 -3 great nice stem of fruit i let the plant go. So the last month the plant was
growing left and right. I used Florida string. I had 2 -3 fruits ripe every 2 days, never more, new green fruit all year, only smaller ones.

Ted that is a great list. I grew a lot of the ones on your list and had success with most of them. I can't keep Cuostralee alive down here but I've heard it's great. Giant Belgium is just too shy a producer and Celebrity is just not that good compared to Big Beef. Big Beef also makes a great fall tomato. You might want to substitute Jetsetter for Celebrity, it's a very productive hybrid with better taste. If you want another great tasting pink you might also want to add Limbaugh's Legacy. Gary O' Sena is another great dark tomato that is very productive and sets good in the heat.
I agree with Cleo about Donskoi; it is an absolutely delicious huge heart. Another great heart that is very productive is Kosovo.

tedin

List looks fantastic and I'd be happy to help you next August by grilling up some peppers and making some great BLT's from those maters.

I'm looking at many on your list for next years grow out and will be adding Chapman and Large Barred Boar which I want to cross for 2012 growout

Add Barlow Jap to my list. I will probably drop one of the hybrids. Probably celebrity since it has received the most negative comments on taste.

I also have a few maids in waiting which I am growing in my fall garden. If we get an early frost and they don't have a decent chance to perform, some of them may get added to the list. I have Kelloggs Breakfast (probably not since I am growing KBX), Mortgage Lifter, Brandywine Sudduth, Prudens Purple, Black From Tula, Cherokee Purple, (probably not since I have Spudakee Purple on the list) and a few others which I can't remember. I did grow the Brandywine and Prudens Purple in my spring garden and got a few tomatoes from each. If someone had handed me one of each of those tomatoes, I would have thought they came from the same plant and they had very similar taste. The taste was not outstanding as I had hoped, but it may have been due to the weather extremes we experienced in the spring and summer.
