so if you are spraying them, could it not be from that? Sorry, in the past I've been blessed to not to have had many problems with my maters. I was just thinking if you are already spaying maybe some has gotten on the leaves to form these????
just thinking out loud.

Mudman, my first thought was bacterial as it didn't look too much like early blight, which I had only one 2 plants in my yard so far. However, look at the second and third pics in this link which shows septoria, but not like the septoria I usually get ... I can never see halos the darn spots are so small and I must be going blind lol...

I do have septoria starting on one plant that I have not pruned as an experiment, and it's Legend.

Mudman, I feel your pain. I've been dealing with what looks the the same thing you are. I've tried pinching off the effected leaf or leaves and spray with dacinol and mancozeb. Things go good untill we get several dewy mornings where the leaves are wet. Its shows up on bottom amd middle leaves alike. I'm going to try a copper based fungicide tomarrow to see if that will help. I'm hoping when we hit the dry season will will slow down. I've got a few plants i've pinched off so many leaves they look sad. Keep us updated .

Sorry, guys, but you may not have read this whole thread though, or maybe I was not clear with my posts. Had an issue when I originally posted, now the issue seems to be gone.

Mike, that's great to hear . So pulling the leaves affected, and spraying did the trick?

Remove infected leaves and spray weekly with a fungicide.

Folks here have used Daconil, Serenade or Excel LG that I know of. I think the Daconil is the strongest of the 3 from what I've read.

Exel LG is not indicated for early blight, just late blight, for tomatoes. I was interested in because of the buzz on T'ville, but if you go to the website and read the indications, you'll see it's narrow for tomatoes specifically.

I've used Serenade which has been effective, but you have to spray regularly. It is based on a microorganism, as is Actinovate (a different microorganism). Since there is a lot of good buzz on Actinovate I am alternating it with Serenade this year.
Daconil works, too, but it is a chemical and has a pretty bad odor, though is a good general preventive on a variety of foliar diseases. I have a container in my garage; I used it to combat gray mold one year.

I've seen tons of it and that is certainly Early Blight. I'm dealing with it now.. alternating half week sprayings of Daconil and Baking soda in water.. 1 tbsp per gal.

I do Daconil on Monday and baking soda on Thursday and so on.. Just started last week so I have some results but nothing super promising yet.
