Above is the link to Tania's website about the variety you're growing. Note that it's been in the US for many many years as sent here by Andrey, from Minsk, Belarus , who does send seeds to lots of folks here in the US and also SSE listed. It appears that Tania is the only one offering seeds ( need to scroll down on that page) but is out for 2012. I said I'd be back later and no problem accessing Tania's superb website this time where she now has pages for over 4000 tomato varieties and if you look at her seed list she grows lots more than just tomatoes. Hope that helps.

I have been wanting to try this tomato for a couple of years now, but I cannot find it anywhere. Tatiana's hasn't listed seed for this one for a few years. Does anybody know a source that has it?

I've been growing both Cow's Tit and Opalka this year, and I can barely tell the difference between the two. If you can find Opalka, you pretty much have the same thing.

Carolyn, who has concluded that perhaps most folks have interest in this variety simply b'c of the name, b'c its really not that different than many other long red pastes, which I noted in an earlier post in this thread where I also named some others..And wasn't it PA Julia who said her interest was b'c the variety name had both cow and tit in the variety name?

And it is a none to subtle form of tomato pornography! I await with impatience the inevitable "Bulls Tally-whacker". Actually, I grew this a couple of years ago and it is indeed a weird looking plant and the fruit slightly curl with the business end of the teat pointing in a lot of directions. It resembled Medusa! Not as dry as some but the plants were loaded with fruit.

Carolyn, I don't really have anything to trade for the seed, that's why I didn't post it in the wanted thread because I felt awkward just asking for it but I will try it anyways, thanks.
Steve, I have grown Opalka before, but it was quite sometime ago, so I will try again. Brokenbar, I am even more intrigued if it reminds you of Medusa! I must say that perhaps it is due to the odd name that I was intrigued. Having grown up on a dairy farm, I have had to milk many cows, so I wanted to grow it to tell all my brothers I'm growing a plant called cows tit!! |

The TRADE subforum is for those who want to trade seeds and also for folks who are just making seed offers with no trades wanted, so that's where I put my annual seed offers, for instance. Hope that helps, Carolyn
