And above is THE definitive thread about Moravsky Div where Tania says it's Stupice. Happy reading. Carolyn

http://tomatoville.com/showthread.ph...h+Lake+Oxheart
For the person who asked about Fish Lake Oxheart. In the link above also check out the link in post #5 of the above link. I LOVE Fish Lake Oxheart and have offered it in a couple of my annual seed offers here. Last year I had two sources ,one gave pink fruits, the wrong color, and the other source gave red fruits. Neil has sent me fresh seeds of the correct red version, but to be honest I don't know if the folks who are doing seed production for me have the room when I note that I received over 90 new ones. A lot of folks got the correct red ones the past two years so if it were me and someone HAS to have it, please go to the WANTED seed subforum and ask if anyone has the correct red one with seeds to share. OR,if anyone in this thread has experience doing seed production( lots of seeds back to me) and wants to do it with Neil's seeds, please PM me about that. Carolyn

I also think Early girl was tasteless. Seems like bloody butcher is a sure bet! Carolyn: Fish Lake Oxheart seems like a great tomato, lets hope many will share the seed. I havent got the space for a massive seedgrow, but i will try this next year and try to share some seeds with the Norwegian seed savers. Has any one tried the variety Northern lights? On tomatofest it says 55 days, wich is weird for a bicolour. |

And I saw that one of the persons doing seed production for me had already asked for it since she got the pink fruited one last year. I'm pretty sure there won't be a problem asking her to save enough seed so I can offer it again in my next seed offer. Besides, it's getting pretty late for almost everyone to be still looking for seeds fo rthis year unless they do a Fall crop, which few do. Carolyn

Last year I got my Moravsky Division seeds from Gleckler's because I thought it was the best place to get the seed. I only grew one plant but it IMO it wasn't determinate. Wasn't that prolific for me but definitely produced all season. Just seems to be too much debate about it, so I probably won't try it again. I think Bloody Butcher has worked it's way to the top of my 'early' list.

Maybe down south it could be 55 days. I think I grew it in 2008 or 2009, in the worst summer weather since I moved here 10 years ago. It started out nice, but from mid July on it was cloudy and rainy with many days in the 50's and 60's. However, I remember the first Northern Lights were very early for their size, I think about 70 - 72 days, and they tasted great! The plant was loaded with greenies too. I believe I posted here raving about them back then. Unfortunately, The cold and wet took hold and as with almost every other variety, and the later ones catfaced, cracked, watery, and tasteless. I should try them again.

Speaking of other colours, Northern Lights has been on my wish list for awhile, it sounds like I will have to try it.
I grew Oaxacan Jewel PL from Solana Seed last year since NL was sold out, and I'm growing it again this year because it is a great tomato! The plant was very healthy and not fazed by cold or heat, rather late though, at least 30 days after Stupice, but set and ripened a fine crop, delicious and so pretty. Some early yellow/orange fruit I am trying this year: Zolotoy Zapas determinate, round orange fruit 7 oz Zolotoe Serdste determinate, golden heart 7 oz Zolotye Kupola indeterminate golden heart large Serdtse Dezdemony indeterminate yellow ruffled/heart large Azoychka is another early yellow beefsteak, but my seeds didn't germinate so perhaps I'll try it next year. I grew Galinas yellow cherry last year - delicious fruit, but the plant was not early to set fruit and the big tender leaves were plagued with spots the whole season - a high maintenance plant for a humid growing situation, IMO. |

I've been offering it here in my annual seed offer every year for several years and I'm pretty sure I also offered it in Jan of this year, but I won't be offering it again since I won't offer seeds over 5 yo although I used to until a couple of years ago. I could check my data book but I'm pretty sure I was the source to Adam Gleckler since I thought it was a very good varitey, Stupice, or not, and Ipreferred the taste of MD over Stupice but Matina is darn good as well. http://t.tatianastomatobase.com:88/wiki/Moravsky_Div Tania also calls it Moravsky Div and when Andrey sent me the seed it was Moravsky Div as well. In the link Tania has translated the name. And if on that page you click on seed availability at the top you'll see that a number of vendor sites offer it. I probably was the seed source to most of them. Carolyn

Carolyn, I guess the "some" on this thread is "me" that have been incorrectly calling it Moravsky Division instead of Moravsky Div.
Not sure why I took that liberty, but I certainly won't do it again. Thanks for the correction. My avatar probably woke up on the wrong side of the rock that day. BTW Carolyn, the reason I bought the seed from Gleckler is because I had read that you supplied the seed to him, so I was confident I was getting the right seed. Oh well, just didn't grow that well for me last year. Maybe will try it again sometime. Ed
