Cecil,
Yup, oh boy!! I've gotten SIX Stokes catalogs! I suppose I should let them know about that, but, geez, you'd think they'd clean up their own computer lists. Anybody else get duplicates of any catalogs? =gregg= |

Well I have to admit I am a catalog junkie...I am like Carolyn, I like to just curl up in my comfortable chair and read all of them...I only order from a couple different places, but like to keep up on all the newest varities and compare prices from one catalog to another and even a newbie like me, I've already spotted errors in some of the catalogs. So far I have only gotten 3 catalogs and they all came on the same day, but I also have a PO Box which I haven't checked lately and I sure there will be a few in there also. It is early yet though and more should come rolling in soon.

ha ha ~ wax ~ you guys are funny ~
I swear its not me !!! Abstract The quantitative composition of the waxes from 26 different tomato cultivars was determined in order to get an overall view of the contents of the compounds identified in Part I at the ripe red stage and of the variability of results. On average, the tomatoes were covered with a wax layer of 50 µg/cm2, which resulted in 29% of fraction 1 (mainly long-chain hydrocarbons), in 19% of fraction 2 (mainly long-chain alcohols and triterpenols) and in 52% of fraction 3 (naringenin-chalcone).The contents of a multitude of compounds are presented, most of which occurred only in traces. The predominant components were (in decreasing order) naringenin-chalcone, n-hentriacontane, -amyrin, n-nonacosane, -amyrin, -amyrin and n-tritriacontadiene, all with mean contents exceeding 2 g/100 g. In addition, the wax composition of one individual tomato cultivar was followed during maturation over the stages green, green-orange, red and mature red. Naringenin-chalcone, alkenes and alkenols were first not present but appeared only during ripening. Although the composition of the wax varied considerably, the triterpenols formed a uniform pattern which was similar for the different tomato cultivars and at all stages of fruit development. Keywords Tomato wax - Wax amount - Triterpenols - Average composition - Fruit ripening. _________________________________________ Tom ps. I just called home ... still no catalogs ~

Bizzarbazzar ~
Its not fixed yet ~ still waiting ... I had to use reserve pics from this season ~ lol I'm not sure what happened to it ... If "someone" dropped it on the ceramic tile (too many waxed tomato pics sucking up memory, lol) , or it just broke down ... either way we contacted Canon and they said there was some defective parts in that particular model ... so we printed off a free shipping label from their website, packed it up, labeled it and shipped it out for repair ... I just sent it a week+ ago ~ should be interesting ... I've never done this before ... normally, I'd just buy a new one instead of repair ... We'll have to see whats what ... ~ Waxer

AWE> I hope you get it back quickly, hey if they fix it and shipping was free..... It would be one of those companies you feel you can trust. I always buy from companies that stand by their products (If at all possible).

Ive been rotten all day (actually for a few days now) and if I lecture some other people..... DH only gets part of the lectures..... I hope you have a wonderful trip, and take lots of pics. |
