Thank you Grub for the correction about the booster.
Good news people! I should be eating my first tomato any day now. By the week-end for sure. And the winner is..................Jaune Flammée! It's about time. Fruits on all plants have been sitting on iddle for ages. I've had full size clusters on my four cherries for weeks now and they just don't ripe. (is that the word, ripe/ripen/riper!). Considering that I have no greenhouse and we had such cold weather downhere in Melbourne I'm rapped. I almost made my "eating tomato in November" prediction. I'm sure it's going to be deeeeeeeeelicious How is everybody else doing? |

Great going FM. Juanne Flammee was my first as well.
I might get a ripe Lime Green Salad in a week or two from my outside plants. A possible off Grumpy F2-hopeful maybe I have been picking ripe ones off outside potted plants in the driveway, but they started there life in the greenhouse, a practice I will persue in future years for sure. |

Todays tasting. First Opalka and I am afraid this is a real dissapointment. The wife and I just didn't like the taste. This combined with the massive numbers of BER affected fruit suggest it will not return.
On the other end of the scale is Grubs Mystery Green. This one is yummy. Great tomato taste with that tang of citrus similar to Cherokee Green. I saved the seeds Grub. |

Shame about Opalka. Maybe pastes just aren't good for us in our hot climates.
But very glad to see GMG was nice. What I would do for one now. Mmmm. Had a dud round of golf, afte a pro round on Sunday. gosh darnoodley golf. |

Thats golf. I reckon golf is hormone driven. I played the front nine at Horsham here one day many years ago and went around in par. One birdie and on bogey. Hit every green in regulation. Didnt have time for the second nine but went away thinking that I had the game down pat. LOL
Haven't played it for years now. Got sick of playing the same course all the time and the alternative here is a goat track. Pastes, nadda, not here again. Bed time Mantis |

The GMG I saw and tasted at the Tomato Fest last year had more amber color than yours Mantis.
I wonder if it was picked late or are there variations in the "shades" of green? |

Good point, Full Moon.
I was figuring that Mantis did the squeeze test and, thus, it was ripe. It's amber skinned here. Maybe like Green Grape it's good when not overly ripe? Any way, I struggle with paste types here and gave up some time ago. |

Grub, I think it gets a bit watery (mushy) when over ripe.

Hey Mantis,
I hope Stump of the World is stacking up. I was chekcing things out in my patch yesterday and, I do kind of recall, that I had a bunch of really strong Stump seedlings. As it transpired, a couple of transplants of other things didn't look well, so I substituted. I now have four Stumps in my patch and they are setting plenty. So it's going to be a Stumpy kind of summer. A good strong plant is Stump. |

I am getting a few Stumps. They are very good but the plant is one of the earlies that are not doing so well.
Full Moon, the GMG did have an slight amber blush but it doesn't show in that pic. BTW has anyone got a Box Car Willie in this year. I reckon I have the real deal this time after two duds. Mine is really loading up with round fruit. I had a good look in amongs the dense foliage yesterday and couldn't believe the amout of fruit. Hope they taste good |

Todays harvest. Gregoris Altai, Arkansas Travellor, Cherokee Purple and Azoychka(hopefully a cross with Juanne Flammee).
And todays taste test is Momotaro. Great tomato this one. Full flavour and sweet and very juicy. |

Looks to be nice and ripe. And pink? How big? Medium? I wonder who are the parents? Would you grow the Azoychka as an early again? I always wanted to grow it. Almost have my first — a Sungold. Lol. |

This one was 110 grams but the others on the truss are much bigger. The ones i got last year were not much more than large cherries. I think they need to be fed well.

Yeh, mine are bigger than that.
And checked your NxTT and it's bigger than large cherry. Like mini-beef sized. Maybe I should grow big ones? What's more my dead bed has come good. And Cherokee Purple continues to set fruit. And Wes and Prue rock. My novelty, Striped Roman, is a goer as well. I reckon, despite planting out earlier than last year, that my harvest will be later this year. A topsy-turvy season already. Sydney's water-storage dame, Warragamba, has hit a record low but the Premier, bless him, has decided there won't be tighter water restrictions. Rather, my biggest challenge, is aphids on hot and sweet peppers. |
