Does this mean that Big Brandy and Genuwine are the same animal??? Hmmmm!

I was interested in your comments about growing F2's

Please go back to the last post at the bottom of the previous page to see where I noted that an obvious editing oversight resulted in the listing of the same parents for all the Heirloom Marriage hybrids

Thanks Travis, I get it now.

A cross of New Big Dwarf x Brandywine = Big Brandy

A cross of Big Dwarf x Brandywine = Genuwine

Do I got that right?

http://www.panamseed.com/default.aspx wish y'all would re-read the last post at the bottom of the previous page.

I did not edit Ball's website. They did. I'm just providing info on the subject of this thread. If y'all are not interested in the info I provid, sorry.

if you have corrections or comments regarding Ball Seeds web pages, contact THEM.

Here is a link to the Ball subsidiary whose breeding staff or their subcontractors (whatever) developed the Heirloom Marriage lines. WARNING: some of their pages also contain editing errors of THEIR OWN doing.

Who indeed is Big Dwarf? Perhaps people shouldn't ASSume that it's "New" Big Dwarf. Perhaps there are other Big Dwarfs out there.....

Dutch, you did get it a tad wrong. They both list one parent as Big Dwarf and the other as Brandywine. Shouldn't all F1's be the same? (Plays music from the Twilight Zone).

So as I understand it, I still don't have it right.

I am confused on what are editing error and/or is erroneous information on some of the links.

I only believe half of what I read, half of what I hear, half of what I see on television/multimedia and half of what I think I already know, so this is not a major problem for me.

Well now I am really confused. Every description I have ever read about genuwine says.....well here it is from TGS site:
Detailed Description

Genuwine Hybrid #2542 (30 seeds) Crossing two different heirlooms creates a variety that is much higher yielding and earlier maturing, while retaining great flavor and fewer blemishes. Such is the case with this cross between Brandywine and Costoluto Genovese. Brandywine is legendary for sweet, rich taste while Costoluto Genovese has beautiful scallops, great production, and ability to set fruit in hot weather. Genuwine plants are regular-leaved and produce delicious 10 to 12 oz. fruits that have some of the ribbing of the Costoluto Genovese but with the larger size and fuller shape of a Brandywine. 70 days.....

Per TGS, Genuwine Hybrid is a cross between Brandywine and Costoluto Genovese. Sorry if this is a rehash. I have some under lights as I write.

Please go back a page, and actually, slowly, carefully read and comprehend. Confusion requires you more carefully read stuff

Furthermore, Google is your friend. Use it rather than depending upon instant dishing out of questionable or speculative info.

And keep in mind, people are not infallable. They make mistakes. Some web pages actually need fact checking andmore careful editing. That's just the way it is.

I have seeds for Cherokee Carbon germinating. Cherokee Carbon= Cherokee Purple x Carbon, at least that is what I understand.

I have seeds for Genuwine as well but am not growing due to reviews.

At any rate I have a few seeds of each and would be happy to send a few if anyone is interested in growing out.
