Yes, cardoons are beautiful. I've seen them blooming alongside the freeway. And the stems are edible, I think. ?

I had to look up what a cardoon is. https://www.google.com/search?q=card...cardoon+flower I wonder if they smell sweetly perfumed like the thistles do here?

Never noticed a smell from my artichokes but it sure did attract bees and other good guys!
Although it was an aphid magnet,it was pretty tough and would resist until the army came to town.

Are those spineless cacti edible, like the Mexicans eat, nopales I think it is called? Sure would make preparing that dish a heck of a lot easier!

Black Eyed Susans must really like wet ground. They're everywhere here.

The third picture is Elephant Garlic.

I don't know what the last two are? The last one is three feet above ground level.

These Morning Glories are growing 3' from the dry-wash flood ditch I shared pictures of a few days ago. In the second picture, you can see that ditch in the background.
