Geeez !
40s are way of life here in my garden. Just listen to this. I began planting out as of 4/5/16 >>> that is 45 days ago. This week we will have lows as low as 44F. No worries. My plants are used to it and fruiting already, at 30" height. Have seen lows at 38, 39 half a dozen times. Tomato plants don't mind cool air as long as the soil is warm.
