Stay safe!
I have friends who recently bought one of my horses in Gainesville. I need to shoot them an email and check up on them.

Still raining here in western Gillespie county. Discovered today that the tiny unpollinated squash behind the female blossoms are rotting from too much water before the blossoms have a chance to open. Have not seen any new tomatoes set in the last couple of weeks either. Missed getting a second bean crop planted this week due to wet conditions. Started seeds for fall tomatoes this week, next will start broccoli, brussels sprouts, and cabbage to plant out in the fall garden.

Y'all non-Texans need to realize that Texas is BIG. For every picture of flooding, there are miles and miles and miles of high ground. Well, except for the bayous on the south coast. In the heavy flooding in Dallas last year most of the trouble seemed to be caused by human construction, like the major underpass the filled up like a swimming pool. :\

We're okay.

Phoenix looked like that in 2014 from a monsoon thunderstorm. I-10 and loop 101 were underwater.
Flash floods are scarey. They do kill a lot of people, even when others are high and dry.

I remember one year the wind blew out of the north for so long and so strong it emptied the bayous and creeks along the coast.

We have received a lot of rain the past week. Fortunately my garden is in large containers so things are ok. The peninsula drains pretty quickly into the Gulf so we are not affected by this kind of flooding. Hurricane flooding is another story however.

Feast or famine, the life of a farmer. Looks like dry weather is on the horizon; finally. 100% saturated here in arkansas - can't get no wetter. Always wish these things would space themselves out; prolly need some come august.

It's gonna be a big year for the skeeters.

I'm in the process of dumping out all the mosquito farms. (Kid's pool, water buckets for my brother's dog, and the outside cat water bowl.) I'm sure I'll find more places to dump out.

The plants are soaking wet this morning. When they dry, I'll prune yet again, and get some bleach spray on them this evening. I'll be spraying them with Daconil soon - I hope. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow and all of this coming week with high temps around 90F.

I gather that the worst is over. That make me happy.
I don't know what this year is : El Ninjo ?? La ninja ??? whatever.
Whatever it is , it is crazy.
We are having heat waves , w/temps over 90F, in June, in PNW. .. no rain.
