That is one beeeyuutiful looking tomato! I sure hope you will be able to reproduce it again!
As I understand it, this was the only tomato from the plant that had these characteristics, so the only seeds saved are those we can see in the sliced photos. I'm guessing around 30-35 total were saved, maybe fewer accounting for some immature seeds and shallower locules. If it were me, I wouldn't want to risk losing any seeds to loss or damage in the mail at this point, since they are pretty much irreplaceable until you know if the traits are heritable. Looking forward to hearing how future grow outs do.

Now, because of the taste description, I also want to try both shapes (heart and oblate) of this gorgeous beauty. If there is still a place for a volunteer from Oregon, here I am))) |

Hearts always seem to be better to me than a similar round tomato. I think because I like a meaty tomato with low gel.

Medovyi Gigant (Медовый гигант) is translated as Honey Gigant from Russian. Yes, original Medovyi Gigant from Aelita SC has got both oblate and wide heart shaped fruit with orange skin and orange/pink flesh on the same plant. I don't remember extra green spot inside...

That tomato is a real eye popper, for sure. The taste though, I keep licking the monitor screen and all I can taste is dust. Seriously, great job growing that bad boy.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Sorry on the late reply myself its been a crazy summer thus far. Anyway i got plenty of quality seed to find out if this one will grow true. I hope it is a mutation and stays the way i found it. As for sharing i will keep everyone in mind but i am going to hold back in case i need to sprout every seed to do it. The good news is that i can pretty much grow year round so im waiting on seeds to germinate as i speak. Stay tuned.

Just saw this thread and I had to go and check my seed collection. I received seeds for Honey Giant from Double Helix Farms a few years ago as a gift. I never could find out much about the variety and even started a thread here about it. I believe Carolyn answered. Anyways, I never grew it out but I still have the seeds. So now that I'm learning more about it and it looks like a beauty, it's on next year's list of grow outs probably. HTG, I'll be following this one! Good luck!

Absolutely beautiful! I love Papayas too and we have plenty of them here in Aloha land. I think we will all stay tune for results of those off springs.
