I feel so sorry for the folks who are affected. I hope that it will end soon and things go back to normal. Too many flooding this year, I think. I remember Texas this past sprig. Now LA.

It's interesting! Our daughter is in Louisiana helping with the flood victims. While she is gone, we got 1 1/2" of rain yesterday and 3 1/2" last night. We are fortunate to live on top of a hill. Now I will wait awhile and go check the lake that surrounds us on three sides. I feel sorry for the folks who live along the river below the lake. When the lake starts filling, the corps of engineers start releasing water. The lake hasn't gone down much since the spring floods. This has been some crazy weather for August. We are still forecast temps in the 80's for the next ten days. Normally, it would be temps approaching and often over 100 degrees F. I love it. I can work in my garden and never sweat.

What a crazy week, we are just now making sense of all of this, we have accessed the damage from the flood and are getting people in to start rebuilding, what fun.
I learned a valuable lesson, even if your not in a flood zone GET FLOOD INSURANCE here in Louisiana. I had to laugh at myself, after the water went down, one of the first things I went to was my seeds, which by now they are germinating, total loss, oh well. |
