Are you arranging used grapefruit halves around your garden like I see on all the gardening shows? Or little saucers of beer? (No idea if it actually works)

Feldon,
Never tried the grapefruit but have heard about the beer. I just can't bring myself to waste any beer, even poor beer, on slugs. I have tried coffe grinds, egg shells, alfalfa meal, copper wire without much success. The only thing that works is slug bait and Safers has one that is fairly safe for the environment and other critters that might make contact. It works fairly well but can never eliminate the problem. This year they were so bad that I found them inside of my peppers!!!YUKKKK. Alex
