I remember 2 years ago people paying the same price ordering from Burpee. I bought mine (burpee seeds) off the rack at Lowes fro $2,50 ( about 25 -40 seeds). The package said : "packed in India".. The same said on those bought from Burpees online store.
I also bough 2 packs of Big Beef off the rack , @ about $2 per pack. I haven't yet opened the second packet.
So you can save some bucks buying off the rack at BBS.

Brandy Boy has some nice reviews from those that have grown it. I priced this out at Burpee and it comes out to be $0.24 for each seed when it includes the high price of the shipping of $12.95 for 9 packs of seeds.

Is anyone willing to donate $1.00 for a pack of 4 seeds in next years swap???

If you look on pick a carrot it will break down price by seed from all the different seed venders.

Also at the city market where I live there is seed and feed store called planters. They sell bulk seed. I don't have a current price sheet but the one from a few years ago has several hybrid varieties and OP tomatoes. The hybrids are 3.95 per mini scoop approx. 30-50 seeds. The OP are 1.50 for a 1/4 oz which is about 1500 seeds. I could get some to send in for next years swap. Here's a pic of the price list. Some of the varieties may have changed.

Thanks for "Pick a Carrot" Zach. I had never heard of this site before. It's a very useful tool for seed shoppers. The only problem is that it does not take into consideration of the shipping charges that are incurred. The price per seed changes dramatically depending on the vendor.

Your feed store looks to be a great resource as well. Perhaps I should look into mine in the near future instead of doing all of my shopping online. Thanks again for your help.

Yes shipping can be a big turn off for a company. I had my eye on a kohlrabi from territorial seed for a few years before I ordered it. I just could find anything else I wanted from them for a while. Then last year I ordered it because I found a few other things they had that I wanted to try. Then I didn't even grow the kohlrabi last year. Lol

Oh I'm so excited! I'm waiting until I get my mailer before putting in my final seed order in. We got 10 inches of snow dumped on us but I can't stop thinking about the garden.

Frigid air is filtering south and we are having a cold spell, sort of. Day time temperature are in the mid sixties. They should rebound next week close to average around 72-73 degrees.
Today I transplanted the last of the onions, cabbages and beets into the garden.
I am looking forward to receive the M.M.M. mailer.
I would like to thanks Gary for the opportunity to join the swap.
Thank you again.

It looks like Santa came and brought you a few seeds... I hope that he brought a shovel too because your garden is going to be growing.

The wonderful, joyful event at Tomatoville....
