I picked a Cleota Pink tomato that weighed 3 lbs 7 0z. That is my biggest tomato ever. Also have two more that is a little over 3 lbs. I will try and post pictures later. We have had plenty of rain the last few weeks in Tennessee.

Still growing slowly. Feels quite heavy, I would guess maybe a couple of pounds at this point
I think I should likely support it somehow. I’ll figure something out that won’t stay wet if it rains. It’s in part shade so slowing it down probably but hopefully will delay ripening also if it gets hot.
This is fun, I check on it frequently. I have a couple new big blooms on the Domingo next to it but the last one did not set so hoping these do. Maybe the bees will help, there lots of bees now in the garden

Appear's like I need to go back to school and learn how to read my scales. This morning , I thought that I had a 4.2 lb tomato and i sent pictures to my son. He informed me that the scales were reading in oz instead of lb's. I checked back to my picture that I posted here and sure enough, I misread the scales. Surprised that someone here didn't pick up on it. Maybe y'all were just taking pity on a old 77 year old man and letting me have my day of fame. Anyway I did own up to my mistake. All I will say is that a 4 lb tomato must look like a small watermelon.

My larger fruit will have to wait, I had some horrendous temps in the GH's for weeks, so ripening was in over drive. I have picked a couple three pounders and that's it. Some newly set fruit may save the shame of 2019. lol

Here is a question for all of you giant tomato growers. Most of you, and me, are trying to grow a really huge tomato by nursing a conjoined blossom, a megablossom, into a tomato that might get to be as large as 8 pounds or more. Certain varieties of tomato are more likely to produce this megablossom and all fall into the beefsteak category. Is there anything other than maybe weather that might make a variety be more likely to produce more megablossoms or is it a just growing the variety and hoping for the best?

My biggest is starting to turn. 5.63 Sutherland
I’ll cut it off and weigh it soon. It’s quite flat so not sure how heavy it will be but for my garden it’s a big one
I shaded it to help delay ripening which seemed to help, plenty of fert and water but no other particularly special treatment.

KAREN- I'd let it get mostly ripe because it will be at its heaviest at that point, looking real good! Way to grow!

Second one of the season. 7.14 lbs first one was a little over 6 lbs.
