Vladimr, I'm very glad you like our Belarusian early tomato masterpiece Praleska. It is also among very desease tolerant varieties too. Taste is suprisingly sweet for a such an early tomato.

I have seedlings of these varieties outside the window: Nizhegorodskiy Kudyablik, Severok, Vspyschka, Sophie's Choice, Beaverlodge Slicer, Lyana, Lyana Rozovaya, Sanka, Kermerovets, Zolotse, Forest Fire, Bezrassadnyi, EM Champion, Betalux, Siletz, Sarayev Gruntovyi, Sarayev M22 . I hope it will be a successful year and that I will be able to photograph, taste and describe something. I will then share my experience here on Tomatoville. Andrei, I hope you are well - the times are bad.

Yes, it's the second year of this awful war near us and everything is reflecting such situation. Fake news from officials, unemployment, lower wages, price increase, a lot of good kind people left Belarus and Russia, because of politics and war.
I'm find a kind of a cure from all of above in tomato growing to escape from everyday stress and not so good news.

So far, the seedlings are doing well outside the window, but I would like the weather to change a bit so that I can put them in a hot bed. It's snowing today, but I should be able to put them in there by the end of next week.

From the beginning to the end of May, we had rather cold weather, which was not very good for tomatoes. Due to this weather, the ripening of all tomatoes is delayed by two to three weeks. This negative impact also manifests itself on the determinative tomatoes, for which I had to remove the windows covering the cold hearths. At the moment, the weather has improved, the plants are blooming profusely and it looks like an interesting harvest.

We got back from vacation on Friday, so I went to the garden on Saturday morning. I removed the front of the cold hearth (southern) and took some photos of those bush tomatoes.

Since 2017, I have been trying to grow determinant tomatoes in my cold frame so that I have the first ripe tomatoes in the second half of May. Every year I planted the seedlings in the last week of March, the plants grew beautifully, they already put on flowers at the end of April, but I could not pollinate the flowers even though I tapped them, reduced the humidity in the cold frame, etc.
The reason was that I never managed to keep the night temperature in that frame above 11°C, which is a necessary condition for the pollen to germinate and pollinate the flowers. The flowers were pollinated only in May, which postponed the harvest of ripe tomatoes by at least a fortnight. That's why I chose parthenocarpic tomatoes bred by Dr. Baggett from the University of Oregon for this year. I already have the seedlings outside the window and they are doing quite well. I hope it will be successful this year, because in April of next year I am going to have surgery on my left knee and I still don't know when I will be scheduled for the right one.

On Saturday I planted twelve parthenocarpic tomato plants in that deep hotbed. I added the cages today and now all I have to do is water them occasionally and wait to see if the varieties prove themselves.
