Some exciting new ones coming along at F3.
The big pink I called wild rose country at F2 came through very well, this one will definitely be advanced. Big potato leaf plants, bright tangy tomato flavour, very uniform shape and that small tidy stem I like. It’s a keeper. KarenO |

I love pink tomatoes and that shape and size is really great.
It is what people want! Most beefsteak tomatoes are too big and unwieldy. I'm not a member of the Bigger is Better crowd. |

I think if I can carry it through like this to stable it will be a tomato people would like a lot. Potato leaf, uniform about 10-12 oz and relatively early as well. Feeling optimistic about that as it is very much like the F2 was.

I personally like tomatoes that aren't perfect orbs. Fun to see all that you are working on Karen!

This is “Cowboy”. Named for my late father who was a great man, a horse whisperer and A huge influence in my life.
This one’s for you Dad. Delicious x captain lucky F3 8-14 oz flattenened and ribbed dark red- brown beefsteaks with intense rich flavour and aroma. Tidy stem and blossom scars no deep cracking, yellow epi. Large indeterminate plants. |

Cowboy has fascinating color considering the colors of the parents. I wouldn't have expected to see the brown tones.

I believe it is brown, it doesn’t have enough retained chlorophyll to be a dark black but it isn’t red either. It’s a beautiful mahogany, brick colour
There are also blacks, purples, red red and bicolours from this cross. Hearts too. The full parentage of captain lucky is not known so plenty of surprises KarenO Last edited by KarenO; August 10, 2018 at 02:09 PM. |

They all look great Karen. Bumptious! I love the shape of that wild rose country pink. I've really enjoyed the taste of KARMA Pink, so good to see you keepin em coming.

Thanks everyone
Here’s another to go forward with. This F3 is from the original Ludmilla pink heart x captain lucky cross. An 8-10 oz purple globe on a regular leaf indeterminate plant. Glossy smooth thin skin, small tight stems and blossom scars, sold and heavy with small seed locules like a heart which maybe it wants to be. Delicious strong tomato flavour, not very sweet but it’s tangy complex rich salty. I Hope it keeps this shape going forward , they are very uniform and beautiful at this stage. I will call this one Chinook after the warm winter winds that come over the mountains. KarenO Last edited by KarenO; August 11, 2018 at 03:27 PM. Reason: Forgot pics |

Great looking meaty core. Perhaps it does want to be a heart.
