Feeling for ya Bower.

We did get a good amount of rain through the night, but no lightning and thunder I could see or hear. My electricity never went off either and I like these kinds of rain storms. Looks like we are in for some more rain this week.

Great weather here for tomatoes the last few days. Sunny and 75 with a good breeze for pollination.

I'm finding more little surprise tomatoes every day.

Finally, we got some rain, starting this afternoon. Last time I checked my rain gauge, it was over 3 inches. Now the ground is well saturated. But with our sandy soil there is no problem of garden getting flooded.

According to the forecast, we should get some more the next 3 days. Even if we didn't get much, what we've got should be fine. No more watering for the next 10 days.

Since last overnight Thursday/Friday morning - it has rained 4 and 2/10" where we live (Not DFW, Texas officially). It is Tuesday now, and I'm getting tired of having to wear old shoes without socks just to go check on the gardens. A lot of the rains have been what I call Thunder-Sprinkles - where it's not raining all that hard but the thunder is so close and loud that you can feel it and you're more than happy to stay inside. What is really strange is that there hasn't been any strong winds with the storms. I'm glad for that.

yes, yes. The back too and the time it takes dragging that hose.

Update: We got another 1/2" or so today. so far. It is mostly cloudy and humid/damp.
With the scattered showers you don't know what is next.

I am hoping this might help my broccoli to grow some head. The cabbage family love water and cooler air temperatures.

Careful what you wish for!!!!!

A storm came through here and dumped a lot of rain. Now I wanted the rain, what I did not want was the wind that came through here and destroyed our 12 ft gate. This gate opens out toward us but the wind pushed it inward which damaged the very expensive and heavy duty hardware. It broke a 4x4 post and it pulled the hardware apart.

Not only did our gate get destroyed but there are about 24 feet of our back fence that's down because four posts are snapped in half.

The kicker here is that the part of the fence that is down isn't even in the same path of where the gate is. So, we had some major wind come through here or a tornado, I don't know which it was.

My garden is a little worse for wear but I won't know the actual damage until daylight.

NWS announced that last Friday there were 16 tornadoes in SW Missouri. 10 were EF0 and the other 6 were EF1.
