I forgot to mention I got up at 3:AM this morning and went outside.
A wee watermelon I have been looking at had spit. It was about the size of a softball. I knocked the ants off of it and ate it as it was ripe and wasn't growing anymore. It was a good sweet morsel however small it was. I wasn't disappointed I was grateful for it. Much to learn on container melons. I have no idea why it was so small. Water and fertilizer is my only guess. Worth |

I have been picking watermelons. One is in the frig cooling.
The variety is Sugar Baby but this baby is over 10 pounds. I just cut it. It is well ripe, sweet, with light red flesh.

Not for sure what I want to do with the ghost pepper plants yet.
The deer came through and ate back two of them about 3 inches. The most sickly in the beginning has put out almost all of the peppers I have collected. One plant as far as I know has never even bloomed. The other two the deer ate back the fruit wouldn't set in the heat. Flavor isn't all that good either. If that would have been four habanero plants I would have been overran in peppers. Plus the habs taste better. Worth |

Yesterday I collected seeds from the ghost pepper that is making peppers.
Today I put the smallest wee bit of the placenta the seeds were on in my mouth and tasted it. Also put up more frozen okra. Worth |

My ghost peppers don't have as many peppers like Numex Sunset. The plants took a while to grow but now they are huge with some pods that are still green
Talking about mule plants, I had 3 Poblanos. One of them never bloomed. So it belonged in the compost. I bought a dehydrator from Walmart and I am drying hot pepper. I have dried half a bucket full of Jalapeno, Fresno and Numext Sunset. I meant before drying.

I have a whole boat load of orange cucumbers on the vine ready for collecting seeds.
They may be crosses and I dont give a hoot. If they are they will be a cross between two very fine cucumbers, Boston pickling and National pickling. When I pull them and cut the vines I am going to plant for the third time the dreaded Armenian cucumber. Every time I plant them something happens like snails. Worth |
