My father in law... he just had a knee replacement and i get to be the nurse... and a nurse I am not. I would rather have dirty hands and pull weeds or whatever but not the "oh, how are you feeling?' "do yu need anything"... no, I am a "well, get up and get yourself to the john".. I am not helping with that...I hope. *sigh* it is just so sad to see them age. at 88 I think he does great, but my oh my has he gotten frail in the last couple years.

aww, hang in there. Once my hubby retired from the AF we moved back home to take care of my mom and elderly aunts and uncles. I have one elderly aunt left. She is the baby of the bunch at 86 and still quite feisty!! She runs me ragged.

oooh here comes the mail lady, dare I hope for yet another gardening catalog?

I am hanging in there. The PT and the home nurse came today... yipee! they are going to come 3x a week and a home health aid 2x a week until he is a little stronger. He is terrible weak after the surgery... Now off to the pharmacy and I still have a high tunnel full of peppers and tomatoes to go pick. It is supposed to ... ... eekk! freeze on Sunday night.. down to 22*f. eeww! got to go. bye. Maybe I'll have a new catalog to take with me on Monday.. I'll not peek at it until then if there is another one out there. I have a "road trip" to take my sis to the doctor to get her cast off and stitches out from her surgery last week.

What are you going to do with the peppers and tomatoes? That's good news about a PT and an aide.

What to do? hmmm, something, I guess (it isn't like I have lots of free time right now to do much... but i;ll do something). I am thinking with a bushel of tomatoes and 1/2 bushel of peppers I should be making juice. I did about a bushel last week and just skinned and pureed the tomatoes peppers and celery. I did 15 pints and 7 quarts of them just to keep them from wasting and at this time of year I can't sell them, no one thinks they are mine or that I have nice ones. After this weekend though...eekk! nothing will be left. The tunnels are not heated, BUT the good news is going to the new catalogs I can pick new varieties to plant in them next year...

Oh.. bummer though when I got to the mailbox... no catalogs.

OK ! Finally ! Clearly, a cold stare, steely eyes, a raised brow, two German Shepherds and a newly installed security camera have paid off ! Two catalogs arrived today ! (I can't imagine how they arrived dripping with nervous sweat!)

I got Pine Tree a few weeks back and yesterday Vermont Bean Seed and Totally Tomatoes were waiting in the mail box. Saving them for weekend reading.
