I have a good friend that gardens in Longmont, I know about as much about your area as I do my own.
Elevation changes everything.
I used the IR brooder lights in my garage on the colder nights.
But since I insulated the devil out of it even when it gets below freezing the temps stay in the 50's with no extra heat most of the time.

A cold snap that has lingered and the holidays have slowed things, but progress had continued prior. Anchor posts for the run of trellis along the fence have been set, and the plot graded after removing five large raised beds and relocated three more along the back fence.

Next up is laying down some 20yr barrier and setting the stanchions and posts for the irrigation tubing and tomato cages. January always has several good weather days and still well ahead of deadline and schedule.

A good day in the garden, got the weed barrier down and 36 spots on a 4x4 grid for fabric pots and cages. Tomorrow, trim it with timbers and lay down mulch. Seriously thinking rubber mulch.

Can you do me a favor if you can.
Can you take a soil temperature reading under the barrier and one not under the barrier after a few days sunshine.

The place looks like it is ready to lay hardwood flooring.

You bet I will. Right now frost line is about 6" down, tell you that. I bet I've got a lot of lawn winter kill too, my grass is not the hardiest.

Put a border of 4x4 timbers down and two rows of metal posts for cage supports today. I'll need another yard of mulch and more support posts. Is one enough per Texas Tomato Cage, or better to support on two sides with posts? It's a fact that we get big winds here.

One should be fine for support.
I wont argue the high winds on the front range.

Another thing I do is I cross the top cage with the bottom cage so they wont fold up.

Sunny and 40's today. The T-posts are set and the frame is up and anchored for the poly greenhouse.

Looks great are the T post set on the windward side of the prevailing winds and the cages on the leeward side?

They're on the north side, the pic is looking west. These are 5ft T's, I thinking cherries and big indeterminate's cages will need a second T-post, maybe 6 ft ones. Windward was the answer.

You never know.
When I had mine in the raised bed with the 4X4 posts I tied the all together and to the posts.
They didn't go anywhere and one or two were stacked to about 11 feet tall.
