That Early Wonder is pink.
I was unaware there is a red (the true) version, as I've never come across it. The pink one is about as good as it gets tastewise in a very early tomato, for me. Gary |

Does anyone know anything about Dagestankiy? And where I could read about it? I couldn't find anything on Tatiana's.

Good to know. I had already decided to give it a try this year in place of Kimberley. I'm happy with the flavor of Kimberley, but a larger early would be nice. Thanks for the insight! |

Hello everybody,
I am looking for some information about a variety called "baby beefsteak". A search here and in Googleville isn't turning up much that's helpful. Karen |

I went through all the seeds and cannot find much about Uncle Charlie's Giant Italian Pear Tree.
Found that it is thought to be from Mexico??? But what about the name Italian Pear tree? I'm also confused as the tree part. Anyone grown this or have a picture?

Still wondering about Yellow Boy, and still completely mystified by Russian Potato. Any enlightenment?

I looked it up on too but it turns out "giant ox heart" is pretty common so I didn't have much luck! |

I have a question about the Frank's pepper seed from Gary.... just wondering if there were any hot peppers growing near by, if so I'll know if there may be hot surprises!
Also watching this thread for news of the mysterious "Russian Potato". My googles turned up a lot of recipes for salads instead. I checked TTB for the list of Russian tomatoes with "Russian" in the name, no "Russian Potato" and only one of them was listed as "potato LEAF" and that is Yablonskiy Rossi. But there is a var just named "Russian" which is RL, perhaps this is a PL version of that one? Just remembering the old game of 'telephone' and wondering if the name got corrupted along the way.... |

Did I write Tree on the label? It's possible, as during the swap one tree catalog came in...and I've been daydreaming about ordering about another 7, or so, pear trees to add to the ~15 I currently have. If you can't tell, I like pears. Gary |

Russian Potato is listed on older SSE catalogs. It's PL, with a relatively small to medium sized pink beefsteak, very good or better flavor, which is typical of most pinks, for me. URI will likely remain a mystery. The seed source for the swap posted earlier here... www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=29008 |

Thanks, Gary, the peppers will be sweet then.
How does Russian Potato stack up for DTM? early, mid or late? |
