Today's trip to the seaside - first swim in the Baltic Sea completed. At 31 degrees Celsius the sea water was great

Your seaside pictures are lovely; what a beautiful place! Is it normal for the Baltic waters at the seashore to get that warm in mid-summer? That's warmer water than at the beach I go to in North Carolina. I never would have guessed that.

I'm fascinated by dwarfs, so I grow them as much as I can
I would have more dwarfs, but our city gardens are too small

We like to go to the seaside, even for a short walk. We choose less frequented places. It's hard to walk on a public beach without stepping on someone's towel or passing a screen
And the water in the Baltic Sea is a maximum of 20'C but in such heat as it was recently and with a slight wind, you don't feel it at all.

Oh, that makes more sense! I misunderstood your original post and thought you were saying the water temperature was 31C, but you meant the air temperature. 20C water temp will wake you up, that's for sure.

Something less optimistic. I'll show you what the potato blight did to me... 6 days... I found 2 foci... I sprayed it with a fungicide, which only stopped it... in 3 days it moved on... I sprayed it with a second fungicide
half of the dwarfs now have the "regulation" 0.5m from the ground...

Hi there

Is the skin of Beauty Lotringa firm? I have an orange variety and I was surprised in positive way how the skin firm is. It can be stored if picked a bit unripe for two weeks. And the paste from them has a gorgeous orange colour and it is sweet without added sugar almost as a ketchup.

This is my wife's variety, who likes to eat it on a sandwich. She doesn't peel it, so the skin has to be delicate.
I also have a similar yellow variety Florentine Beauty this season, but it didn't set any fruit in the greenhouse

Well what a coincidence I too have The Florentine Beauty, but this one has a very delicate skin. ;9 Especialy ones which are growing outside the ones in the greenhouse have firmer skin, the colour in the greenhouse is also strangely more yellow as outside where is pale in comparison.
