I used to buy a lot of seeds from Gurney, it was my favorite catalog 20 years ago when they were in the Dakotas. However since they been bought now their prices are astronimical. Seed prices are sometines 300% higher than other sources.
Mischka has a list of approved seed sources many of which are at a fraction of the cost of these big name seed sources.

There is a local hardware store here called (Do it Best Hardware) ... its a small chain world wide.. this weeks add has seed packets 4/1.00 .......... I drove up there this morning and this local one was clearing out all his rack.. organic and all, from 2012-2013 seeds. They have a good selection and needless to say I had to spend 5 or 6 dollars before I felt that there were more seeds in the bag than I needed for the next two years... LOL!

I agree with the Gurney increase in seed prices over the past year. I do use Gurney for supplies like row covers, pea fences, mini green house etc...when they have a sale, then the coupon it is a deal...the seeds and bushes/trees--I buy elsewhere.
