It's certainly been an educational holiday for the kids Woz.
I'm sure we'd like the Platypus and Seahorse exhibits ourselves. lol |

Glad you like them, last time we were there 8 years ago we were not allowed to photograph them. I was quick off the mark this time, but no comments were made by the guide. Looking forward to the day they have a weedy seadragon on display.

Today was a visit to Tasmania Zoo, very similar animals in majority but with a couple of extras like the African Painted Dog. Been packing up campertrailer in readiness for trip home. Last two nights will be in cabins due to weather so no photos sorry.

Today we went upto Beaconsfield mine site and had a look at 120 year old relics from when it was a working gold mine with the biggest denaturing pump in the world. Photos on camera, not phone so will get them later.
Made it to the Macaques in Launceston after. Being late on a dull grey day, they were waiting for the gate to their quarters to open |

I spent about 3 hours sketching the Macaques in Launceston, while visiting TAZ....highly entertaining, as there were so many babies or young ones playing. I'll see if I can find those sketches and post them.

Thanks Zana, a safe trip home was had although the other three members of the family saw their dinners a second time. Roughest crossing we have experienced, but nowhere near as bad as they can get. More photos still to come from Trowunna, was in process of posting them last night when ship lost connection. Need to do some more cleaning up here then will post again. Just glad that people have enjoyed the photos

Trowunna
Some of the photos from Trowunna
Forrester kangaroo and Joey, just after feeding time. Hungary Bennets Wallaby, hungary Forrester kangaroo, both eating out of my hand. Echidna, Cape Barron Goose, once the second rarest goose, numbers got down to 1000 but are back up to roughly 140 000. Devils feeding on a pademelon during a keeper talk. Pademelon are almost in plague proportions in some areas, so are culled to feed the devils, which suffer as a species from two variants of the facil tumour disease that has nearly wiped them out in the wild. Non releasable Wedgetailed Eagles, the second albino Magpie we have seen this trip and both birds are last seasons hatchings. Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo and some of the Mountain ducks present |
