Lawn Mower ~ - Page 4

Well I did it ...
Raked the entire lawn ; shredded
the leaves & mowed the lawn ;
All of it went on top of the garden ~
Some of it got incorporated into the soil,
and some just left on top ...
Now the micro-and-macro critters
do their thing ... and come spring ?
Who knows ... maybe some more
"waxer" pics for every one ~ lol ~ :wink:

Wanted to update this thread !

I got a wheelbarrel over the holidays !!!
A really nice soon to be brother-in-law got it for me!!!

The thing is sweet; with a puncture proof tire, a rust resistant barrel, and awesome handles ~

NO MORE BACK BREAKING SEAWEED COMPOST
TRIPS TO AND FROM THE COMPOST BIN!!!

I'll take a pic soon ~

That's a biggy. I don't know how many times I've flattened the tire on my wheelbarrel, because I was hauling too much stuff.

One of these days I'm going to buy a replacement tire for it... one of the puncture proof ones.

Yeah , its some kind of synthetic material ~ solid to the core ... I've never seen something like this before ...

I have seen two types of puncture proof tires out on construction sites. One is a solid hunk of plastic (fake rubber) that is very solid and durable, but, it is hard and transfers shock through the frame and can be tiring to use. The other type is a tire that has a very thick tread and sidewall, but a hollow center around the rim. These absorb some shock,like a pneumatic tire, but, does not go flat when punctured. It is also replaceable when the tread wears out. I have found that a slight bit of give and bounce allows me to roll over and control a heavily loaded wheelbarrow better than a hard wheel does.

I remember (back in the day, 80's) I used my Dads wheelbarrel that had an inner tube ... I mean you could do jumps with this thing !

And then there was my Moms, that had a solid piece of plastic for a wheel, and that thing was LAME-O to use ~ lol ~

Prior to me looking into them, I had no idea they came in "mens & womens" !

My handles have "shock-absorber" grips, and the tire does look like it has some "give" ...
I'm only transporting mulch, seaweed, and compost in my flat little yard ~
My parents on the other hand would need an industrial strength one ! Lots of rocks and "bumps" up on the mountain ~

Times just been flying by ... it feels like just yesterday I was announcing my engagement, & planning for Greece!
Maybe its just where I live ...
Things just seem "fast" here in NJ ~
