Not the traditional meal here. My daughter and her husband are coming over in a bit, we are grilling rib eye steak. Roasted red potatoes, salad and skillet apple pie for dessert. Then later The Walking Dead! Maybe a cocktail......

My family made ham, green beans + mac & cheese.
It was okay but as soon as my $ situation improves I'm going to treat myself to roast lamb leg. |

Bought a 9 lb ham but ended up with only 3 of us for dinner. Lotta leftovers. Good thing it was delicious. Next will be ham bean & soup, ham omelettes, etc.
Just finished watching live Jesus Christ Superstar. Excellent, old memories. Nan |

Ham here as well, and like you, lots of left overs. I'll be canning some of it up out of self defense!!

And there is still a Big Lent here until Orthodox Easter. This week is the most restrictive. But I'm usually not into it. So, please, post your delicacies here as many as you like them

Delicacies: mine is not very sophisticated. A Cadbury creme egg is a chocolate egg with sweet icing inside. I love chocolate. When I was young I would give up candy for Lent. (Not anymore).
During Lent, many churches sell fish dinners or fish sandwiches on Fridays. It is supposed to be a penance, to not eat meat. But it is more like a party. Many churches here sell haluski or pierogies, too. Pierogies especially are a delicacy in Pittsburgh. Nan |

The place I went to church growing up didn't practice lent or anything like it.
I did have a person I worked with ask me why I was interested in Easter because I wasn't catholic. Worth |

Those things. They burn my throat. Extremely too rich for daily consumption but I suppose once a year they can be eaten. ONE. One can be eaten. One per year since I was 2. Or 1. I don't remember. I do remember dive bombing into one outside a gas station in Winter Haven Florida when I was 3ish.
They burn. |

The eggs are wonderful, Andrey! I especially love the ones with butterflies. They hold special significance for my church family. Without getting into the entire story last year an older lady the church basically considered a church mother went home. 3 wks later her DIL passed away in a car crash. Butterflies remind us we'll see them again!
Happy Easter, Andrey! We spent Easter in Fernandina Beach, FL with a friend. We had a seafood feast on the beach with a glow in the dark easter egg hunt the children loved! We're doing our Easter celebration here next Sunday due to scheduling conflicts. Hope everyone had a blessed Easter! |
