Praying for the best for your furry companion. I have never had dogs, but I don't think the human impact is that different with cats who've been a part of one's life through relocations, changes in status and career, etc.

He's showing some improvement over the infection but refuses to eat or drink. They called me this morning to tell me that they inserted a feeding tube which is discouraging, only because I don't want him put through anything uncomfortable or traumatic like that. He did manage to hold himself upright, which is a positive thing among the negatives.

All my prayers are with you. A feeding tube is not a bad sign, he needs energy to heal. Lots Of Love for the little guy,

Poor Mischka. Do you think they would let you try to get him to eat? You guys have been together for a long time and he might be refusing the food and water because he is unhappy to be away from you.

I'm leaving in a few minutes to visit him and bringing some of his favorite treat, sliced roast beef. A relative of mine visited him last night and tried feeding him some turkey. He did chew one piece of it, they told me.

I'm not sure which medications that they've been treating him with. Honestly, I really don't pay attention if the vets start chattering in the background when I'm visiting. I've made it clear that my time spent there visiting him is for his benefit. I don't want to be distracted by talking with them for any length of time.

The vets call my home twice daily for updates and I consider that the best time for explaining and discussing the details of his treatment and prognosis.

Thanks again to everyone for your well wishes and concern. It means a lot to me.
