I received mine on Friday (March 4), after I started 99% of my tomato seeds already.

Nice print, it is much easier to read!

I will agree it's much easier to read with the use of different typefaces.

Perhaps someone can advise me on how to proceed.... there is ONE person who lists the ONE tomato I HAVE TO HAVE!!!! This lister states to e-mail them before sending a seed request, to verify availability. I have tried 3 different ways (e-mail address listed, through the on-line Yearbook & a PM to their T'Ville account) to do this over the past 4+ days with no reply... I am sure they are probably just very busy... my concern is that perhaps they have, for some reason, lost internet access or changed their e-mail address and I am wondering... how long would you wait before sending the seed request and "hoping for the best?"

And yes, I know I sound like a "junkie!" But seriously, there are very good reasons why I need THIS variety, THIS season... I promise!

The first thing I'd do is to access the posting history of the person here at Tville that you Pmed and see when the last post was made which should give you an idea of how active the person has been here and when perhaps last here aside from the person just reading but not posting.

Other than that are you absolutely sure that only ONE person lists the variety, which could be?

But there could be folks here who have that variety so why don't you name it here in this thread and see if anyone else has it and/or post in the wanted seed Forum, but then only registered members can read there so maybe both places.

Actually, Carolyn YOU probably have a few stashed somewhere as I believe you were involved in a rather large trade with said Listed Member at some point!

And yes, according to the on-line yearbook he is the only person who has ever listed it! And his last post on TVille was 4 weeks ago!

Anyway, it's a red, named Michele.

No, I've never traded with him, I don't do trades with anyone except in special circumstances, he just sends me new varieties each year and in return I help with his SSE membership as does one other person and we've been alternating years.

And it's not one that he's sent me but I can't speak to whether he sent it to anyone else.

You're going to have a hard time contacting him. And that's b/c his job forces him to travel extensively away from home, sometimes for many weeks at a time and in most areas where he is, as he says, there's no place to plug in, and I assume he means with a laptop.

One of the reasons he has NO new varieties in the 2011 Yearbook is b/c he couldn't meet the deadline for submitting his new varieties b'c of his travel. And how sad that was, both for him as well as those who request varieties from him via the Yearbook.

Eventually you'll make contact but perhaps not in time to grow out that variety this year b'c it also takes a very long time for seeds from the time he sends them to get to the US.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the explanation Carolyn, it certainly does help! I am relieved to know this is "normal!"

I will probably go ahead and post in the "Wanted" forum just in case!

Since it seems that so many people don't pay attention to the listers' instructions, I wonder if I shouldn't just go ahead and send the request so that it will be there waiting for him when he returns.

Well it certainly wasn't intentional but now I'm laughing as well.

I never should have looked at this thread.

Now I can't get the Beatles tune out of my head...

Thanks Shlacm.
