well I got to taste my honey pink finally! My first one was 67days and so far I have picked 9.5 lbs with the largest being 1lb 4oz and the average being 12 oz. They are very meaty with almost no seeds and blemish free. The flavor is good, with a very sweet, low acid taste. Sweeter and not as mild as most yellow tomatoes. overall I like it alot and will grow it again next year.

I have to say I am growing this tomato for the first time. I also received my seeds from Ohio Heirloom. I am completely in love. I had my first wonderful taste of it last week. Now, among the ridiculous amount of tomato plants I grow, this has become my favorite. It is a fabulous slicer with a taste unlike any I have tried. It is meaty enough to flavor a sauce nicely. I could find many many uses for this lovely thing, but I will most definitely grow this again (and again). Even the wispy leaves that drive me crazy will not deter me from growning these yearly. LOVE THEM.

This has been one of the "big" tomatoes of my garden this season. Almost every one of them is over a pound, and so far, I've pulled quite a few off the plants. The flavor was good... but I'm not one to go into the details of tomato flavor, since it's either I like it or I don't. It wasn't an early variety, as I had hoped, but I will be growing this one again next year.

It's reasonably early for me. Two are turning on one of my three plants. Its been 58 days so far, and I imagine I'll be tasting my first Pink Honey in just a few more days. I can't wait!

Not real early for me, but among the early ones. After stupice and such but a little before Cherokee purple. Seed from Ohio heirlooms. Nice big perfect fruits. It will be on my list for next year.
KennyP Anybody here grow it from seed other than Ohio heirloom? To compare.... Last edited by coloken; August 19, 2012 at 01:38 AM. |

No- mine were from Ohio Heirloom as well. I have to say I ordered a number of different varities from them (as well as other seeds such as different lettuces, peppers - which are truly amazing) and I have been thrilled with the results. This has not always been the case with some places I have ordered from. I will definitely use them again. Reference the Siberian Pink HOney - they are ripening in droves now - and each is as perfect and tasty as the first (also very large sized). The fruits are blemish free. I have also grown Carbon, Paul Robeson and Kentucky Orange from Ohio heirloom. Paul Robeson and Kentucky Orange will be repeats as well.

It was a bit on the early side here as well, and I'll probably grow it again next year, but maybe only one plant. The flavor was good, but I guess I look for more "bite" where as Pink Honey is, of course, more on the sweet side.

Pink Honey... finally
Okay, so I've had a slightly different experience with Pink Honey than some other people. I finally got three ripe fruit from one plant, the first of which was on August 20th. None has been larger than 6 oz., and the first one I cut up and saved seeds from had over 50 seeds. That said, the taste has been really sweet from the first tomato on. They ARE really solid inside and the first tomato came in at a respectable 61 days. I'll definitely grow this one again, but I was really looking forward to growing a large tomato or two. Maybe that will still happen... the three plants I have are still setting fruit. A second plant is ripening a fruit, but it doesn't look to be any larger than what I've got so far.
