I think Gary made sauce with them ha ha. Maybe squeezing isn't good. Just kidding mine doesn't look too healthy but I have two more seeds with tiny roots. It will be sad if they die now because I want to see what I get.

You have the F2 2008 seed, not the F3 2010, correct? And, did the seedcoat remove itself, or did it need help?

The neon yellow thin label says F2 2008 and I have one little plant. Sometimes I have casualties so I'm not counting my tomatoes yet. It came out of the seed coat with a little crumple in the leaf.<a href="http://s43.photobucket.com/user/span...9a80d.jpg.html"
Click a bunch of clicks on my album and find my copperhead surgery last summer - 11 baby copperheads. I e-mailed pictures of it to my sister and she didn't answer me for a while. Last edited by matilda'skid; March 7, 2014 at 03:29 PM. Reason: my album |

Here is my copperhead surgery picture from last summer in case anyone wants to look. It is garden related because the copperhead was under a cluster of Korney's Cross tomatoes. I noticed it coiled up there just as I was picking the tomatoes about 5 inches away from my hand. It was a very fat copperhead and I didn't pick any more tomatoes in that area - just let them rot even though the snake was very, very dead. Click on the album arrow to see the whole process. Snake lovers I only kill the ones in my yard and they aren't rare here for sure. The last snake picture (healthy long, live snake) is different one that was in my flowers. <a href="http://s43.photobucket.com/user/span...ac6d6.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...ps919ac6d6.jpg" border="0" alt="eleven babies photo snakesurgery016_zps919ac6d6.jpg"/></a>

Elbonian Mud Ball is developing...very...slowly. F2 seed in 2008, F3 in 2010, F4 in 2014. I really don't like the flavor of black tomatoes (can you tell by the name?), so it doesn't get a place in my garden very often.
I haven't heard back from anyone else about their results with EMB. I will try to germinate some F2 seed (likely my last try) again this year. The past few tries has ~99 of 100 seeds doing nothing, and one seed having the root poke out about 1 - 2 mm long and then stop growing. I likely will have one plant of the F4 this year. If you'd like some seeds, send me a PM. Gary |

Yes, there would be a chance.
I trialed Variegated (Splash of Cream) one year. And, another year Variegated showed up in an unknown "mix" of seeds I trialed. Both were grown right around the time EMB showed up in my garden. Hopefully you have a true variegated leaf, and not some sort of disease on your plants. Gary P.S. There was no germination on any of my old F2 seeds. |

I have planted 1 seed of f2 with one of Lucky Cross and 1 of SNFLA and 1 Sungold. And then when you have told me that f2 had weak germination I have added to a separate containers all f2, 2xf3 +2xf4. And nothing sprouted in that mass f2, but that one seed from first f2 sowing seemed to sprout, just very very late. Its still small. But started to show variegation. So, its double fun now.. to wait and see what the fruits will be.

Somebody skipped Sunday school class more than once and played hooky while reading Dilbert.
I don't think it would be appropriate to apply for a job describing unusual vegetables for a seed company. |

I, along with a few others, received an award for perfect attendance in Sunday school, all 12 years of it. I think it had an effect on me, in that I'm completely honest about my tomato descriptions. That would be a disability, in writing for a seed company.
