Still confusing !!
I also made my contribution by saying (mistakenly) that Brandy Boy is one of the parents of Big Brandy. SORRY I am growing " New Big Dwarf " Is there a variety called "BIG DWARF ?" Gardeneer |

Confused or not confused, I have just sowed Big Brandy and New Big Dwarf seeds.
Thanks to generosity of a fellow gardener. Both of these varieties will be probably my largest red/pink tomatoes this season. Gardeneer |

We planted Big Brandy for the first time this year. We planted the seeds New Years Day. The plant is vigorous and one of the first varieties planted at the same time to blossom and set fruit. The trusses so far have 5-8 blossoms each. We had great success with New Big Dwarf and Big Brandy appears to be off to a great start!

Hudson,
That's a beautiful plant. Do you still grow Brandy Boy? Do you grow any other brandywine crosses? What's the verdict on what you have grown? |

Hi FruitGuy,
I haven't found anything better than Brandy Boy and until we do - Brandy Boy will be our main crop. We have 20 Brandy Boys planted in our GH this year! You can see from the photos that it will be hard to find a replacement for Brandy Boy and we love the taste!!! Every year we try other varieties though. We tried Jersey Boy last year - a cross with Brandywine and Rutgers. We were happy with the results but not enough to plant it again this year. The taste and production was just not as good as Brandy Boy! This is the first year for Big Brandy, I plan to plant Genuwine in the second crop of 2016 but have not tried other crosses with Brandywine. Do you have any to suggest? I did plant a couple of Brandywine Pink SS this year to compare with Brandy Boy. What is your opinion of Brandywine crosses? Have you tried Brandy Boy or others? |

Hudson,
I grew Brandy Boy the first time last year. I did it in part because of your posts over on another forum. I grew several seedlings and gave some away. I really, really liked it as did my friends who grew it. It's probably been my favorite tomato yet. I haven't grown any other Brandywine crosses. However, I plan to put several out this year. I have Red Rose, Genuwine, Texwine, Dixiewine, Bucks County Red, Big Brandy, and Brandymaster Pink seedlings all growing now. I will be comparing them to Brandy Boy. |

Hi Deborah!
Yes - the same. Thanks for the compliment on the photos! I finally decided I better see what's going on at Tomatoville and already signed up for the Dwarf Project - haha. That should be fun and interesting! Thanks for making me feel welcome! |

Big Brandy is kicking out some serious sized trusses - the potential of this variety looks promising! This truss has 11 blossoms/buds. The fruit looks great too - very aggressive growing plant!

Hudson,
This has me super excited!!! I can't wait to see how mine do. They will be growing side-by-side with my Brandy Boys F1, some Brandy Boys F8-F11 that I got from someone, Genuwine, and Brandymaster Pink. It'll be fun to see how they all compare! |

FruitGuy,
Me too - hope you will post your results! I am also growing Brandy Boy F1 (of course) and I will be interested in your Brandy Boys F8-F11. I decided to save seeds from Brandy Boy F1 this year from success others have experienced. I'd like to see how your F8-F11 perform. When do you plant? |
